JASON BARKER

Club Director

Playing Experience: Before coaching volleyball he started playing sand volleyball in high school.  After returning home from his mission he played 3 years of Club Volleyball for Weber State University, highlighted by a trip to Nationals his Jr. year.

Experience: Holly Montano and myself started the Itsy Bitsy Spikers in 2013, and it wasn’t very long that we needed to drop the Itsy Bitsy… our little girls were outgrowing the name. So finally we updated our name to Weber Elite Volleyball Club. We strive to be the volleyball club for Weber County and Northern Utah.  This will be the second season we have offered boys only teams and we are excited for this new opportunity to grow. This will be our 11th season since that first team was started, last year we had 21 teams!

Philosophy: Club volleyball can be an exciting and fun opportunity for your child to learn new skills, make new friends, and have fun. As fun as it can be for your child, different expectations from the coach, parent(s), and player can take away from that positive experience in a number of ways.  We believe the players will gain confidence and a love for the game through positive feedback from parents, coaches, and teammates. Skill level develops at different rates for kids, but effort and having fun can always be achieved.  We will always try to provide positive feedback for effort.
